20 rims & tires

i got a chance to buy lexani r five with 225/35/20 nitto tires on that are new & are only 1 month old, he sold car and got mercedes.. all for $1000 now my issue is will the smaller 225 be an issue as the max has 245/18 on now??? i dont want to look too small or any issues... any comments appreciated i have a 2009 sv premium silver

They'd be slightly shorter than stock and there'd be more wheel gap. I'd sell those tires and get 255/35s.

They would actually be shorter width wise, not height unless you get smaller than 40mm sidewalls! But yes there would be a little more wheel gap with 35 vs the stock 40!! The tires just won't be as wide!

Nope. SHorter and narrower.
225/35/20 are 26.2" tall
245/45/18 are 26.68" tall

The 225/35/20 would be roughly 1/2" shorter

Not a huge difference, but when I get plus size wheels, I like for the tire to be slightly taller to reduce wheel gap. That's why I recommend a 255/35 which is 27" tall.

After I went through my first set of 20" tires at 255/35 I switched and tried 245/40. I love the extra tire and all fits well. The only very slight rubbing I get is when backing up and doing a hard wheel turn. Other wise nothing and I would recommend it!
