HID / Xeon HL question (replaced lights still not working)

Hi Gang.

Long time lurker here, new member....

I have a 2009 Max with the HID factory lights. The other night one of my lights went and then the next day the other went out.

I decided to replace them myself and installed the new bulbs but they are still out. (luckily the parts store returned the bulbs so that saved me 200.00).

I guess my question is , could it be the ballast's? I did check the fuses and they were fine.

At this point....I'm assuming I'll be taking it to the dealer, but thought I would toss it out to the forums first.

Thanks
D.

Welcome to the forum. First you need to determine if the ballast have power. Do you have a multimeter?

Are they both off? or only one of them ?

Cuz if both are off its almost impossible to burn both ballasts at once :\ I'll be guess it'll be either a fuse issue or wiring issue.

Thanks for the replies.

They are both off, but one went out then the other went like 2 days later.

I do have a multi meter, where are the ballast's located?

triple checked the fuses and those look ok. Could be a ele issue but seems odd that they went out at different times.

High beams and fogs work fine.
