Help...issue with 2010 Maxima

Hi all -
Hope someone can help. We have a 2010 Maxima. Last week, we were on vacation and had parked it in the garage.

Now the car seems to be locked in place. The car will start and I can shift it into Reverse or Drive. But when we step on the gas, the wheels seem to be locked. Normally, the car will begin to move slowly on it own when the brake is release. Now the engine will rev but the wheels seem locked in place.

Any ideas or help on what the issue might be?

Thanks in advance!

Have u tried removing the parking brake? It's the foot pedal on the left side.. That will prevent the car from moving..

It's either that, or something else..

Is the car making a tiny judder while shifting into D or R ? if yes, then your gear is engaged, if not, then something has snapped or needs re-programming. I'm not a CVT freak but I doubt its a mechanical issue.

It's certainly not normal and I have't heard of anything similar other than CVT failures others have reported where very little to no power was going to the wheels.

Your best bet is to have it towed back to the dealership to have them check it out. The 09-10 models came with a 10year/120,000 mile warranty on the CVT, so you should be covered if the transmission/linkage is the issue.
