V3 triton LED DRL

I'm trying to find this product, but it seems like I'm giving myself a run around. Anyone can give me a website where to buy them ? Doesn't matter the price, just want to purchase the LED DRLs. Unless I'm looking for the wrong ones !

I want them too but they're a luxury I just don't really "need" at the moment.

One day. One day.

Ok, maybe I confused you guys which I apologize. You know how most people have halos that are DRLs and the have another set on the bottom next to the fog lights that are DRLs. Those are the ones I'm looking for. It seems like a strip with LEDs and its super bright. The ones that the BENZ have, but not those. I just want the straight ones. Similar to the ones that GHOZT has, and other people on here has.

Sorry for the long essay.

You could shoot Ghozt a message. I remember Morimotos being mentioned.

Ah, okay, I see what you mean. I'm gonna guess you could also look at superbright LEDs

I have VLEDs in my interior, plate light and reverse lights and they are all super bright. They have quality products in my opinion. I ordered 6k switchbacks for my front turn signals (lights up super white and turns amber when you turn on your turn signal) and for my rear signals I am just ordering regular amber.

As far as brightness goes I have only seen videos on youtube and they seem pretty bright. I will post a video on here once my switch backs come in so you can see how they look on a Max.

Thanks for the info. Are the hard to install, or just straight forward ? I'll be waiting on that video cause, I might change all the turn signals and probably the reverse light with the V3 triton. Let me know !

I can't wait to see them on the max. I've been watching a lot of videos on youtube as well and I'm very intrigued now. You've got me hooked Greg and the only cure for this addiction is the sweet sweet image of those bulbs on your max

You know how the front turn signals has two yellow bulbs. When I get my V3 triton for my front signal lights. Do I take the other one out, or do I have to get a whole different set just for that side too ? Any ideas ?

What do you mean the front turn signals has two yellow bulbs?
If you mean two separate bulbs, then yes, there is one main turn signal that "blinks" and the other is a side marker that does not blink at all.

If you mean two filaments, than yes, the front turn signal is a dual filament bulb, the dimmer filament stays lit when the parking lights and/or headlights are on, the other is a brighter filament that only turns on (and off) when you are signaling.

So then, to answer your question: No, you do not have to take out that other separate bulb that is the side marker. You may however, want to invest in switch backs, instead of just a single mode V3 Triton.

Well, yeah, that's what I meant. I'm actually getting switchbacks for the turn signal, and regular V3 standard for the other bulb. But you think it's going to be too bright ?

I was just on their (VLED) site yesterday. I'm going to pull the trigger on the front turn signals, switchbacks. I did superbrightleds front and rear turn signals, license plate, and reverse, but really fancy re-doing the front. Actually, I pulled the fronts (3157-A18) and installed them into my wife's LEAF

Nice! Post some pics/vid when you get them installed! After these the only lights left that aren't led are my rear signals which I'm ordering next week!

Do you need any special resistors and such for the install?

The V3 Tritons have resistors. If you look at the kit, you will see them.

When I ordered them a month ago they were on backorder. It only took them a month to get them to me though.

Yep the V3's have built in resistors so theres no need for splicing wires. More of a plug and play option.

Looks like VLED is running a special on the V3's for July 4th. You can get 20% off with promo code BOOM20. They are on back order though.

So I'm gonna take a wild guess in that if you're running other types of LEDs with a load resistor spliced in, you'll want to remove that if you switch to Tritons?

Any issues with our 3157 CK type connectors?
What does the shopping cart need to have to ensure a successful installation?

Yep that's true. Unless you only plan to swap one set of LEDs such as your front signals and leave your rear signals then you'd still need the load resistor.

When you go to buy the set you want, there will be a drop down where you select the connector you need. That's the only step you'll need to take and the rest will come in the kit.

Since my rear turn signals are re-wired as reverse lights, I'm getting V3 triton reverse lights. :-D

For the front signals we do.

That's going to look nice! I didn't even think about doing the reverse lights with V3's.

Went to install my 6k switchbacks tonight. It didn't feel like it was fitting right in the housing correctly. I went through the bumper so I had limited access but enough to try to fit it in there. The kit comes with at 25mm spacer that needs to be held on by 3mm screws. The screws have to fit the pattern of the turn signal housing and maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I might drop the bumper tomorrow and try again.

So if I order the v3 tritons for my front turn signal, I would just need one pair correct ? But i will need a separate set for the side markers as well ?

Sorry to hear about the complicated installation process. Let me know how the install turns out after removing the bumper. Good luck

Finally got the V3s on. I didn't get them to "snap" back into place like the OEM bulb put it felt like it was sealed on there by the rubber sealing gasket.

Here's a few pics.

Here's a crappy iPhone video also

(couldn't send to photobucket because iPhone wouldn't let me send it)

I ordered 5k HID bulbs from TRS so hopefully they'll match better with the V3's.
