Unhappy Extended warranty in FL

Just bought a near new 2012 maxima, shopping for ext warranty, found a good price (from this forum) on the gold preferred. The dealership is in CA and when they realized where we were said they could no longer sell warranties to floridians as of this spring. Anyone know or heard if this??

I'm assuming it's b/c of the high potential of unreported flood/water damage that florida cars could have.... just a guess. I was always told to avoid purchasing any used vehicles that have been registered in Florida.

If that's the case then I doubt they are selling warrantes in NY,NJ, CT and a bunch of other states hit by Sandy and other storms recently.

I thought the place in CA requires that the car to be a CPO which was recently purchased or you have to have it inspected by a Nissan dealership to prove everything is working

The car only has 6k miles so all dealerships have said its considers new and doesn't require the inspection. We've only heard the no fl sales from California but I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue. Frustrating as Ca Has the best price.

I don't understand that warranty they sell in California, it's cheaper for a CPO than a brand new Maxima as I priced it
