door locking issue
door locking issue
My driver sidedoor is stuck shut and will not open. You can here it moving but it wont unlock. I removed the door panel while closed and manually unlocked the door from the inside. Both handles work but it seems after the door is locked it wont release electronically and disables the locks of the handles. I removed the door locking mechanism inside the door and it seems to be working fine. Need help
Bump. We need an auto electrician to respond here.
I'm not into auto electronics, but would like to know the model year of your Maxima and whether it is still under warranty. You have already gone further into this research than I could have done.
If I'm reading your post correctly, neither the lock/unlock buttons in the outside front door handles nor the unlock button on the fob will unlock the driver's door? If so, this is pretty darn important, and must be fixed.

Sounds like a door lock actuator has failed to me.
This happened on my old accord and the solution that worked was to replace the door lock actuator. Once I did that, it worked just fine.
My door wouldn't lock or unlock unless I did it manually, though it sounded like it was working. After consulting the Accord forums, I determined it was an actuator issue. I was a little surprised at the fact that the actuator is all plastic. The gears on my old actuator has ground down for some reason so it was spinning the gear, but nothing was happening.
If your car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer and let them replace it - replacing an actuator can be a right pain in the rear end. As a matter of fact, I had to do it twice on my Accord because I broken the mount the first time I tried.

Did you happen to get yours fixed yet? If so did you take it to the dealer or did you do it yourself?
