Lowering kit

For Christmas, I'd like to ask Santa to lower my '10 Maxima. It has stock rims which I'd like to keep. I've hear Eibach all over the place, but can someone tell me the exact description of what I would tell my mechanic to acquire? I know nothing about this at all, so when he comes back at me with a question a quote, I want to be able to hand him a piece of paper for what I want.

Thanks in advance!
Adam

All you need are the springs. Just swap the stock springs with the eibach's, alignment, and go. May want new struts/shocks if they are almost done for, but if you are going to do new struts with the springs you might as well get coilovers.

My car just hit 30K, so I would hope shocks/struts are fine.

You just need the actual Eibach springs (they're literally just big springs) and any mechanic can install em with a spring compressor. should run you about $150 for install.

for what its worth, I had mine installed around 25k miles and around 55k when I installed my coilovers my OEM shocks were done.

I just got my eibachs the other day, took me like 20 mins to install each or the back springs, he front wasn't so easy chase I had to ,a über the spring in there, the spring compressed was literally no help at all. So I didn't use them. To save the hastle of not using the spring compressor just place bricks under your control arm (make sure they're not sprouting the rotor) and just drop your car on the spring. That's what I did and the fronts took me like an hour; that's only cause that was he first time me ever taking apart maxi. Now I can do them in like 10 mins each.

You're going to love the eibach springs. They're amazing, they make my car feel like I'm driving my moms c class when it's in sport mode⚡️Low to the floor and a lot less sway than the stock maxima springs.

^ i wouldn't even attempt the front springs without a compressor unless you really know what you're doing. you can get seriously injured messing around like this

I just disconnected the sway bar and put some bricks under the control arm before I unscrewed the top screw in the engine bay, and slowly lifted the car off the bricks and the springs came out with no hassle

I definitely want to lower my car when I get the wheels I want. Question: Springs don't interfere with your vehicle if you upgrade to wheels that are 20" or more right?

I would lower the car first then get wheels. You want a nice flush or wide stance. Learn from my mistake cause I got wheels first and when I went to springs, my wheels weren't flush anymore. switched over to coils and even with spacers, it isn't even close to flush. You need to find the right offset when your lowered.

I don't quite understand how getting one first over the other has anything to do with getting a "flash look".

Because when you lower, doesn't camber set in? At stock height my 20x8.5 +40 offset with 255/35/20 were flush. I went on Eibachs and had camber. Even with alignment they weren't flush with the fenders anymore. My friend with a 7th gen got Eibachs first then 20x8.5 +20 offset on a 245/20/35 and has a better stance then me when I had Eibachs plus high offset wheels.

Okay so JBling, to understand I got this right, I should lower my current 245/45/18 18" stock wheels with Eibachs (I don't know what camber is) and then change my stock setup with the 245/45/20 or 245/35/20 Tires and Infiniti 20" wheels with +43 offset in order to get the wheels flush??

I would lower it first yes. Best way to explain camber in short is the angle of the wheels in a vertical axis. The lower you go, the more negative camber you have. But too much camber will kill your tires on the inside. Some people on here like me prefer camber for that look. If you don't want camber and your tires to go bald, then get a camber kit. But since your going on Eibach springs, camber isn't going to be that bad but some people still prefer a front and rear camber kit. If your going with 20's, I suggest going with a lower offset for a flush look like +20 all around on Eibach springs on 245/35/20. +43 is too high. On Eibach springs, I had 20x8.5 +40 and it wasn't even close to flush. I needed a 20mm spacer all around. Went to coils and my 20mm spacers weren't enough. I need 25mm or more so I just gave up. Selling the current wheels I have.

With a 20 inch infiniti wheel with a +43 offset, you'll need spacers to make it flush. If you have sport 19's, 20mm spacers on the front and 25mm spacers on the rear will give it that simple/clean flush look like Ghozt had back in the day.
