Hawk HPS question

I just got my Hawk HPS's put on my stock rotors... I did the bed in process exactly how they recommended, but I honestly don't feel a difference. feels really similar to stock, almost as if they weren't even changed... Do they need to be used a little more before I feel a difference?

You may not notice much of a difference unless you use them a lot to heat them up or really stomp on the brake pedal.

I found the same thing on my '03 maxima when I switched to the HPS pads. There wasnt much difference under normal braking. I think the main advantage of the HPS pads is that they won't fade as quickly as the OEM pads under continuous or aggressive braking where the pads really heat up.

This is just speculation on my part, so if anyone knows better, please chime in.

that is my understanding as well. Hawk HPS are good daily driving pads that when under higher heat application will have less brake fade than the OEM pads.

if you wanted a noticeable improvement with day to day driving I'd have gone with some Centric blank rotors and Carbotech AX6 pads. more dust and noise than OEM but significantly improved braking power

I have centric blank rotors on the rear and HAWK HPS Pads yeah it's basically just doesnt get affected under high heat or constant use a great DD brake pad.

Only thing I have heard that steered me away from Carbotech AX6 pads was that these pads squeak a lot more then most have said for a DD...

Yeah some don't recommend them for street use due to noise/dust, but personally I don't mind extra braking power with this thing. For those that have ever had to slam on their brakes in emergency, you know what I'm talking about. Stopping distance is too long for me.

Yeah agreed wish I could hear from someone about this setup on the max bc I'm inclined to do it
