all those with a tune please comment

Just want to hear about others experiences with getting a tune on their 7th gens.

Cost, where was it done, difference as far as power, feel, etc.
What was changed, torque management, af ratio at WOT, full advance timing, etc.

I think tune would help a lot with these cars. It seems like it's holding back to me. Compared to my 05 Alti SE-R.

with full bolt-ons plus tune you're lookin at maybe 240-250 whp. so personally if you want power id go with another platform. if you like the Max and want to make it a little faster i say go for it, but most people who mod this platform out for power end up disappointed and sell the car for something more powerful.

I agree 100% you should have kept your SE-R

Well I really liked the SE-R but this new Max is a lot nicer. With a few more mods I'll be happy with it.

yeah dont get me wrong its a fast car, just not as fast as a similar VQ with different transmission and same mods/tune. i still love modding this car its fun, personally i like it cause its a different platform that not a lot of people modify. just wanted to be completely honest with you; cause over the years i have seen people get disappointed and move on.

I agree with what ghozt is saying. If you're into modding for power, you'll be disappointed. However, if you mod for looks, you can make these cars look damn good. And if you mod for handling, you can have some nice success there too. Still not gonna handle like a true sports car, but the difference in feel of stock vs modded is plenty noticeable. I've done lowering springs, rear sway bar and pads/rotors and the difference is huge. Unlike the power mods I've done where the difference is just so-so. Still worth doing, just don't set real high expectations for yourself. And as for tuning, I'll have to get back to you this summer. Lol. Story of our lives, right? "Just wait till you guys see what I've got planned..." Haha

Anyone hats had a tune please comment and share your before and after differences.
Like what is your timing at now, af ratio, etc.
Stock (supposedly bumped 2 by dealer but not sure it stuck) my initial timing is at 16 and is fully advanced at 26. My air/fuel ratio is around. 11.5 when floored. I watch it on the Torque PRO app.

If a tune can lean out the AF and give me more timing it would help. Just not sure how much timing these engines like.
I believe I've read that Uprev does nothing to the Torque management can someone confirm this?

when my car was dyno tuned at Hills Garage here in MD they didn't really share that info with me; on top of that they locked the tune so other shops can look at it or modify it. dont blame them; from what ive learned a tune is like a chef's recipe and not everyone is the same skill at it.
