Performance Shops in RI/MA

Hey all,

I am curious as to any feedback for a good performance shop in the RI/MA area to entrust my new Maxima to; preferably a shop in RI as that's where I live but am willing to drive within reason to a MA shop as long as the job gets done right the first time.

Not going crazy, but doing the basics here:

- Eibach springs
- K&N cold air intake
- STILLEN cat-back exhaust / front lip spoiler / side skirts / roof wing

We're looking at 2-3 months out in the springtime to get this done and any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Why do you need a performance shop to do such basic mods?

Whether a performance shop or a mechanic shop, I just want to make sure it gets done right at the right price from a shop that has done work to someone else's that they can vouch for.

Half of the stuff you can do yourself with the help of a friend.

Any place that does routine suspension can install the springs.

The biggest PIA is the exhaust. Lou's custom (N Reading) installed my cat-back. I will definitely go back to them for HFCs. There are a ton of Lou's shops in Mass and I suspect they'd all do a good job. Maybe the Stillen set up is easier to install.

IMO the priciest thing for you (aside from buying the parts) will be painting. Definitely shop around and get quotes from body shops. I paid around $300 to get my front lip spoiler and side skirts washed, sanded, and painted (3 coats KH3, 2 coats clear). That's on the cheap side because I knew the owner of a shop in Everett. If you search the threads, a lot of people paid double.

I installed the body components myself.

If you're looking to do more serious mods, like tuning, you'll want a place that has experience. Check out Kaizen in Boxborough MA. They do all the GTR guys.

There's another guy on here from Rhode Island who's done a ton to his Max (guy w the blue vinyl wrap). He might be able to give some suggestions for shops closer to you.

From your handle, I got excited you might be from Maine. My parents have a place in southern Maine so I'm always on the lookout for Maximas in that area. Not a lot of guys reppin the Max in Maine.

Appreciate the feedback, broseph. Good stuff. As you know, just looking for as much information possible before getting after it when the winter is gone. Man, I love these cars!
