Replacing brake light bulb

Ok, so I am what you would call, mechanically retarded. I am starting to learn my way around the vehicle. I have a 2009 Maxima and my rear passenger brake lights are going out. By that I mean, I have the upper half out and the lower half still good. My driver side is still the way it is suppose to be. I am not wondering, if any of you fine people could help, if I can change the bulb itself or if I need to order the housing unit? I have had a couple people tell me that I would have to replace the entire housing unit (told you I am stupid when it comes to this stuff) but am really hoping to replace the bulb itself. If I can change the bulb, which one am I looking for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The entire housing must be replaced. Bulbs(LEDs) are not serviceable.

Yep, replace the whole thing. Here's your chance to just upgrade to the newer tail lights... unless you like the red tails. :P

Style can be changed but in my state red tails are the "requirement".
