Curbed my rim

Leaving for work at 6:40 am and slowly rolled out of driveway and obviously not fully awake yet. Made sure no cars parked on street and then clicked pandora on and while I had my eye off road because I thought I was clear heard a gut wrenching grinding noise. The curb rash isn't terrible but it's there. Does anyone have experience refinishing maxima rims, especially the hyper silver from 2012 s limited edition models? I got a quote from a body shop we work with at my work for 80 which sounded too good to be true, I plan on asking our more reputable shop tomorrow. The rash goes through paint and ground into rim edge for about 5 inches

First it sucks, but it happens....I don't care how good of a driver someone thinks they are, I live in the city so all I do is parallel park, and I've done it once or twice...that sound ehhh...I'm not telling u to not get it fixed, but do u not think it's going to happen again?

I'd save my money, think how pissed you'll be be if u do it again after getting it resurfaced.

Lastly I'd attempt to repair the scuff myself before I shelled out dough for something that could and probably will happen again

Damn that sucks. 80 doesn't sound too bad though, bodyshop I goto charges $90 per rim to refinish and paint.

I think my guy ( I work at a Mercedes Benz dealership) charges about $75-125 per rim, depending. $80's not a bad price.

Rim repair is pretty standard. Fill the scrapes, sand, then paint. If its not bad you may want to just touch it up with paint and forget the filling and sanding. Once you fill and sand you are better off painting the whole wheel.

The harder thing might be finding the paint color for the limited edition rims. I have the same problem and have not been able to get the actual color code for the wheels. Ill be ordering some K11 touch up paint to give it a try on my really small curb marks to see if it matches. It may be a couple weeks before i get to it though.

So I finally got around to touching up my limited edition wheels with the K11 touch up paint and I was surprised how good of a match it was. Its not 100% perfect, but its certainly close enough. I'll take some pictures once I get it wet sanded and shined up and post them up here.

As mentioned above start by asking a local dealership who they use to fix their vehicles wheels. From what ive heard the dealerships around where i live contract their wheel repairs to a wheel tech. I hear they do nice work.
