Torque Convertor

Torque Convertor
So I previously made a thread saying my 09 max kept shutting off. So I received word from nissan the torque convertor keeps locking, that's what's causing the car to shut off and not run when cold. So they are waiting to hear from nissan to see if that's under the cvt warranty. I'm asking does anyone know for sure if the torque convertor is covered under the cvt warranty?

I would hope to think so, as it is connected directly to the tranny.
are you over the 5y/6k power train warranty?

if they tell you it isn't part of the CVT, say you'll see them in court. The tc is 100% part of the transmission. If Nissan said that the extended warranty or any warranty was only on the continuously variable components of transmission, that would be different. However they said CVT and that T is for transmission, and transmission means take the power from the engine and send it to the drive axle(s) - the defense rests.

So the nissan shop called and said they are still waiting to hear from the nissan office to approve the work on my car, I tried not to laugh on the phone but I had to. I let the lady know it's covered under warranty she said she was aware, but it's looking hopeful nissan will approve the work on the car.
This is why I don't care for any car company to be honest, they know the part is covered under warranty, but have to go through all this to fix it? Hell god forbid my tranny went out what then lol.

This might be the dealer BS'ing you. I dont think nissan is responsible for this issue here. I know in the pass dealers would get thousands of people coming in for the same issue and even though customers would have the same symptoms they would still act clueless to each customer and charge that fee to diagnose the problem and do that dance. Maybe there's a better dealer I would avoid this dealer or maybe its just that particular service adviser.
