Weird problem on highway.
Weird problem on highway.
Hey guys, so today i am driving home on the highway at about 60-65 mph and the car all of a sudden decelerated. I tried to push the accelerator and nothing. Car started to slow down. I was able to get to break down lane and car stalls. I restarted it and the rpms stayed at 2k for about 1 min then fell back to about 700 and ran fine after that. Any idea?
I don't have a bunch of Maxima experience, but I have seen what you describe in the pages here...it might be related to 'safe-mode' for CVT transmission self-preservation.
Have the CVT fluid inspected and review if the conditions before your 'event' might have caused the fluid to overheat? - note that I am not pointing a finger back at you!! I am only encouraging you to recall the pre-event conditions to better aid the diagnosis for any remedy.
