Need Help! Replacing glass panel between windshield and sunroof.
Need Help! Replacing glass panel between windshield and sunroof.
So I bought the part from Nissan (GLASS ASMY SUNR (916029N02A). It's the glass panel right between the windshield and sunroof), and I'm wondering how hard it is to install. Anyone done that before? What tools do I need? How long might it take?
Some places quoted me between $220 and $470. The $220 seems reasonable but the guy said he might not be able to use my part. He has to ask his supervisor. Also, none of the places are open on the weekends which is the only place I really have time.
At another place, the guy said if it wasn't the kind of panel that had to be bolted down (and it doesn't appear to be) that it could be pretty easy and he could do it outside the shop on a Saturday. I'm tempted to go that route even though the work probably won't be guaranteed just for the convenience. What do you guys think.
BTW- 2012 Nissan Maxima

Check out the FSM. It may help you decide if you want to tackle the job.

The complete version should be there. I would download it because you never know when it may disappear.
The vehicles don't change very much year to year so any 2009 - 2014 FSM should still be pretty accurate.

yeah, I saw the section in the 2014 manual. I decided to have that guy install it for me on the side. He's charging me 150 bucks and he already has the tools and urethane kit. Hope all goes well! Thanks guys
