Scuffed my rim!

So while I was pulling into a driveway, I didn't notice a small metal pipe sticking out on the side of the driveway. Scraped my front right rim on it.

I went and got a quote to repair the rim, shop said $100 which is a little pricey.

My question, is there a cheap way to fix this? Can I just get some silver alloy touch up paint and apply to the area? If you look at the picture, it has a line scratch in the rim and white paint from the pipe I scraped my rim against.

Any advice you have is appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like it would buff out?

If not, plastidip

Are those the Hyper Silver 19s? I recall reading that those are very difficult to touch-up or color match due to how they were originally painted. Here's some more info on that here.

You can try and buff out the scratch itself with some compound like you would do on regular paint as Grego214 mentioned, but be very gentle. If you can feel the scratch depth with your fingernail, then buffing it out will be of no use unfortunately.

$100 doesn't sound that bad really. The process a body shop will do, if the scratch had gone through the paint, is sand the area down, body filler if needed, scuff the surrounding area, and blend and match the paint and clear. A good body shop will be able to custom match the paint. My rims are super scuffed up and scratched. One of those things that will ruin your day.
