2012 Maxima and I am looking to upgrade the audio system. With the layout the way that it is I can place a new head unity down where the CD player is now but would prefer to have it up where the display is (temperature, fan speed display etc.). The new unit will have a GPS and I would rather not have to look that far down. The problem I am facing is that if I put the new unit in the higher space I lose the ability to display the fan speed, temperature, etc.



Anyone have any ideas? I thought about moving the higher display to where the CD player currently is and then putting the new head unit in that space. Not sure if that is possible though.

 

I'm not sure what your layout looks like because mine has the factory Nav up top, but possibly you could install one of those units that slide out and the screen pops into the vertical position when in use. That might work for the height issue.
