Putting subs in my 14 maxima
Hey everyone new to the maxima family and must say I love the cars. I have a 14 maxima Sv with the bose stereo in it everything minus the navigation. I want to put my two tens and amp in it was curious if there is a way to tap into the Bose system or what parts I need to get to do it. Thanks for all the help everyone

Welcome. I am interested in this as well I was thinking 2 JL 10's and would also like to know the safest and easiest way to tap into the factory bose system. What parts are needed besides amp power and remote turn on?
Also is the alternator and battery strong enough or would a capacitor be suggested?
Also, anyone who has subs in the trunk have you noticed much vibration from the car on the outside when subs are slamming? Is it necessary to dynomat the trunk?

You can tap directly to the subwoofers in the rear deck. That's what I did at first. My amplifier had speaker level inputs, and I tapped the remote turn on signal going into the amp from the HU. I went ahead and added sound deadening to the trunk lid, and that helped quite a bit.
With my current system, I tapped the audio signals coming from the HU into the factory amp.
Even though I did it, I would recommend not going through the rubber grommet on the driver's side. There's a chance of damaging the OEM wires going through there.
Couple links that may help....

Good to know. Appreciate your help kind sir.
I've heard others complain about the factory battery and even tho my ride is garage kept, I have had concerns in the winter a couple times starting it. Quite honestly was crapping my pants for a few seconds while it cranked very weakly when leaving work and it sat outside in 10 degrees for 12 hours.
Sounds like if I replace the battery with a better one with more CCA I should be fine.

The stock battery isn't well suited for the car. Even so, I ran mine for a while with no issues, but I live in an area that has a warmer climate. Pretty sure I would have run into issues living in a colder area. Replacing the battery with one that has more cranking amps is the way to go.
