2010 max sv -- window up switch question
Quick question for anyone else with a 2010 SV.....Today I noticed that when I want to put the windows down, if I push the button all the way down, the windows continue down, all the way, even if I let go of the button.
This does not happen on the way up. For up action, all 4 windows, I have to hold the switch in the up position.
Is this normal?
As in, I would have expected that up and down motion both have a "latching switch" vs. "momentary".
I'm wondering if i'm having some sort of weird electrical problem...
Thanks a bunch!

My windows go all the way down and all the way up. There's like a little physical 'bump' or click I feel when I only push it down. Have you tried to reprogram it? Someone mentioned it recently in the forum and it is also in the service manual.

I checked the owner's manual, but I did not see how to reset or re-initialize the windows.
For reference though, here is how to re-initialize the windows if they stop auto up/auto down:
1. Turn on Car
2. Make sure the window is fully up.
3. Fully depress the driver/passenger window switch (pass the little click or bump for auto mode) until the window goes fully down.
4. Continue to press down on the window switch for 5 seconds. If you let go at any time during this, you need to start over from step 2.
5. After five seconds have passed, pull up on the window switch (also pass the little click or bump for auto mode) until the window has fully gone up.
6. Continue to hold it in the up position for 5 seconds. If you let go on accident from when the window was fully down, you will need to start over again from step 2.
7. Release the window switch, and confirm that the window switch now does the auto-up/auto-down function again.
8. Repeat for any other windows you may need to re-initialize.
EDIT:
Look like the re-initialing sequence is a little off, but it will still work regardless. See factory service manual, page GW-17.

All you have to do is put all windows down, not using the auto function (1 click). Then put all windows back up and hold all four of them for five seconds in the up position (not auto just one click). Waalah. Works every time for my 11 and takes ten seconds tops. Your only correcting the auto up featurs because that should be ths only thing thats lost when you disconnect the battery.
