On Badging , removing or addding

My question is weather or not to totally "debadge" or add some , specifically, V-6 ( maybe a 3.5 as well) badges to the back of my 2013 Max?

Most people will probably say de badge it, and I may still do that on mine but for now I've got this going on...

I like that. How did you do the red? Just hand paint it? My grill is completely black so that's got me thinking

I would not add anything personally. The only badge I have left is the Nissan burger on the trunk.
I think most cars have way too much badging or other knickknacks already on them. By knickknacks I mean things such as the hideous fake metal looking things that Buick insists on putting on the fenders and hoods. One of the only badges I feel is worthy is the 5.0 on the mustangs. Another example of badging overkill would be the Dodge ( or ram) sorry, pickups. Specifically the big horn model. Half the damn door is covered in useless jargon.

I've had to badge a few vehicles, the biggest ones were on the Toyota Tundra (Huge door badges) . I agree with the Mustang 5.0 badges, they suit the car and look appealing.

Thinking of removing the "MAXIMA" letters at the rear of the car. I think it would look a lot cleaner with just the Nissan logo...

I agree. Just used the wife's hair dryer and cleaned up the sticky residue left behind with goo gone. Done and done.

Fishing line or floss will work to remove the lettering. As far as putting it back on, you're going to need some masking type and a degreaser to ensure the area has absolutely nothing on the surface (dirt, wax, etc.) for the adhesive to adhere.

I used floss to remove the badging on a 2003 350Z, cleaned off the adhesive and then used a good car wax on the area to protect it. Looked great!
Planning on doing it to my Maxima this Spring...

I put SV on the right side of the trunk lid. I didn't like just having Maxima on the left & nothing on the right. I do have an old GLE badge from the 90's that I thought would be cool to put on (as this car would have been a GLE if Nissan didn't change things). I would take off the SV & put it on that side.

I myself prefer the letters. Specially if the car doesn't have a spoiler.

Not a fan of implanting other car letters on my car. I agree less is more. The car looks great with out badges. I can't stand how many badges are on cars nowadays. Why is it important that I let people know it's a "V-6" or its a "SV". Seems like the only badges that are worth it would be performance division ones, M, AMG, RS, etc. IMHO.

I've never added letters before, or taken them off. Some cars do have too much. I don't believe the Maxima is one of them. I didn't do it for anyone but me. I didn't like how there were only letters on one side .

On my 4th generation the letters were in the middle of the trunk...I liked this. My 5th gen had it how I have it now, so I went back to this. I'm usually a person who likes subtle mods. Reason why I've never heavily modified the appearance of any of my Maximas. Reason why I don't have a lip on the car. To each their own.

Ha! Good one!

Reminded me of things my dad told me too. I remember him telling me to look over at the cemetery as we drove by one day....he then told me "there's a lot of tough guys in there son". Must have been after a fight when I was a little kid.

That's a good one. My old man still alive and kicking. He was a jet pilot for 40 years so his stories are amazing to everybody but his sons. And we were raised in Ireland so very different sayings over there. But I digress... Happy Christmas to all maxima owners.

Maybe I'm a little OCD, but having the MAXIMA letters on the left, the Nissan logo in the middle and nothing on the right side just looks wrong in many ways. Maybe removing the MAXIMA letters will allow me to think of more meaningful things...
