Shocks for a Bone Stock Maxima

I need to purchase rear shocks for my Maxima. Looking at Rockauto.com they have OEM version for $35 all the way up to $100 for Sachs. I had one guy tell me it didn't matter what I put on and another saying it definitely would matter. Should I spend the money on the $100 shocks or will I be alright with the $35 variety?

Spend the money on Nissan OEM shocks instead of cheap shocks.

Well, the "cheap ones" are Monroe OEMSpectrum. You're saying this is all I need:

ThinBlue82 says to buy Nissan OEM. There is nothing I can see on the referenced page of that site that say's they are Nissan OEM.

There is no point in spending $250 each for OEM Nissan branded.

I personally go for the higher level of what is available.

Agreed. He could just upgrade to a coilover suspension. Just so long as he stays away from the cheap $35 sets

So you're saying buy the $100 Sachs? Coil over suspension definitely sounds out of my budget... lol

That is what I would do myself.

Good coils are about $1k by themselves.

Also, this is a very easy instal to do yourself if you didn't already know.
