Time to Upgrade

With the rebates because of the anticipation of the 8th Gen coming out, now is the time to upgrade! Traded my 2012 S with Limited Edition to a 2014 SV with Sport and Tech!

Congrats on the new ride but you will be kicking yourself when the new maxima comes out and you're "new" maxima is suddenly old. Glad you got the sport tech tho

Thank you! I thought about that, but I really didn't like the pics (I know they aren't official) of the 2015's. Besides, no way I could get everything I have in this one in a 2015 at the current prices

I bought my '08 in November of '08.

I am with you. The 2016 looks like a Japanese monstrosity. The car lost its classic look. No way I would buy that model. May have to go to a Infinity Q50

I didn't want to say this, but it looks too much like an Altima.

I liked what I had but I couldn't do what I wanted to it, now I can. I don't like the renderings I've seen of the new Maxima and I'm not the type of person that needs something new. I'm very OCD and a creature of habit. I wanted this body style.

I got a '14 for price and the fact that it's a current model that has had bugs worked out. Can you imagine buying a new model the first year. I never do this because of the bugs in any new model from an OEM.

My 09 SV sport must be the exception, no bugs, no problems, no complaints.

You are definitely exception. I should say that it's a matter of progress and evolution that the same model made in the first year have the potential to have more problems than the same model in later years.

for some reason nissan is treating the maxima differently than the altima. so far it seems the maxima has been delayed a whole year because of the problems they are having with the altima cvt's. The 8th gen maxima should not have cvt issues because of that. But I still wouldnt ever buy a 1st year model lol. I've seen mercedes and a lot of other car makers have problems with that 1st year model.

Totally agree! the features may be great or obviously upgraded but the style is horrible.

The 2016 looks huge to me. I don't like that at all. Doesn't appear to be very nimble. The cvt fiasco in the new gen Altima's and the Pathfinder has been a horrid experience for many. I would be very hesitant to consider the 8th gen Max until it's version of the new cvt is proven to be trouble free, especially with Nissan's plan to compound the complexity of the new cvt with D-Step shift technology that simulates shifts on the new Max. Those facts were enough to convince me to go with the 7th gen while it is still available and at a great price.

With all that said, I do have to admit that I like the look of the new Murano much more than I expected from its pre-availability photos. It will be interesting to hear real life feedback on that new model.

Where can I find the pictures, or renderings? 9 Maximas for me. '87, '91, '94, '97, '01, '04, '07, '10, '12. When I tell my wife that I am going looking for a new car, she doesn't ask "what kind." She asks "what color!"

That's funny! I've heard the same in the past.

Sweet! I googled it, but the Super Bowl just released the official commercial.
