gear stuck from 5th to 6th

Hey guys well im stationed here with my 13 maxima with 17,8xx miles and my car hasnt giving me any problems till recently. Usually right before I drive off I let me car sit till it warms up. I drive it alittle before hitting the highway and when I do it will accelerate to 65@2500rpm then get stuck. After awhile it eventually switch gear and everything will be back to normal. What you think the problem is? Should I bring it in?

Are you using the paddle shifters while going to 65 or using D mode?

Your post suggests it's a recent problem so I would suggest taking to the dealership and drive the tech around so you can duplicate your problem for him. What you are describing is not usual for the CVT, at least this does not happen with mine.

I totally agree with Richard. Doesn't hurt to get it checked out.
