150K Engine Cleaning


Well I finally broke down and cleaned the Engine bay at 150K and fixed the leak I had on my half shaft seals. Cleaned all the oil that was leaking on my undercarriage.

 

man it looks factory looking good what products did you use ?

 

Thanx man, I just ended up using the Gunk Gel spray, 2 cans, took all the plastic covers off and cleaned them seperatly. I then Used Zaino Tire Shine (has no silicone in it) to give the plastic trim pieces nice shine but not too much, I love the stuff.

 

Wow. That is great looking! Better than new!

The only thing I did not like about the Gunk is that you can smell it in the vehicle when you run the A/C on fresh air, it's starting to wear off now, it's been like 5 days. Other than that worked good

Yeah it's the Stillen Intake, the Optima Battery is a new install, I was sick and tired of the Factory one leaking and corroding the contacts.

i have been wanting to do this for a while now but im always afraid I will get some chemical where it doesn't belong. nice job

 

No I did not, I thought about it but I am horrible at taking Pictures, maybe just lazy! But it was pretty bad, there was a lot of battery Acid build up on the positive terminal from the battery leaking, and I had a shaft seal leak that had oil all over the undercarriage (which is now fixed) and lots of dust from abuse.

 

I was also afraid and finally had enough and just said F* it, Sprayed EVERYTHING down good and let it sit for about 10 minutes and hosed it off, I let it dry for about a couple of hours then started the car and she started right up, never had a issue! Do it man, don't fear the reaper!

 

i did this over the weekend man what a difference no more ugly dust or whatever that crap was i even found some nuts in the corners lol
