09 Max, brake lights stay on.

Hello. New to forums and hoping for some help. Yesterday car wouldn't start so I thought I just needed a boost just incase I might've left an interior light on. She stared rt up and I was getting ready to go when I realized my brake lights were on. Thinking that's what killed my battery. I checked the brake switch near pedal. Went as far as purchasing a new switch but lights still stayed on when installed. Would appreciate any help before I breakdown and head off to dealer. TY

Any possibility the new switch is not working? Did you test it with an ohm meter?

Thx for reply. Don't have a meter. I will return the switch tomorrow & pick up another to make sure.

Check the other side of the switch, my other Nissans had some plastic plug where the striker hits and sometimes it falls apart not letting the switch activate or deactivate
