I recently purchased a 2012 SV Sport Package. I just took the car to have the tires rotated and the tech showed me this. Have any of you seen this before?
Apparently the lugs are correct for the car, but stress is causing the lug seats to crack.
I didn't notice anything with the way the ride feels. Sadly the only way to see this is to take all four wheels off the car. The local dealer said, as most of you that this was caused by the wheels not being tightened.
Does anyone have suggestions on a good place to purchase oem wheels, other than the over priced dealer? I found a couple places online, just curious if anyone has a suggestion.
Type this number ALY62583U20 into a Google search and you will come up with a bunch of places to buy remanufactured OEM wheels for your car. My auto collosion repair shop got one of these wheels from a listed business when my car was repaired a couple of years ago and it is working just fine. The price was $289.
So how soon would you replace these wheels? Three wheels have this problem. I drive >100 miles a week.
Thanks,
Peter
thats a good question. How long did you have the car?
If nobody brought it to your attention, you would not have known you have an issue. I say ride them and don't worry about it?
OEM rims are definitely overpriced, but there are plenty of people who upgraded their wheels and are selling OEM ones. Check ebay, craigslist or this forum for sale? Might as well look into aftermarket options as well.
