Replacing stock 35w HID with 55w HID help?
Hello my fellow maxima drivers. I'm looking to get the brightest lights possible since my night vision isn't the greatest and i live around a bunch of deer. It's my understanding that a stock 2009 SV has 35w HID low beams. I was hoping someone could give me as detailed as possible the steps needed to convert those stock 35w to 55w 6000k low beams. I don't need to know how to change the bulbs i mainly need to know if i will run into heat problems going from 35w to 55w, any suggestions on good reliable 55w ballast and would i need a relay harness or anything other than the ballasts and new bulbs? I can figure out the location of the stock ballasts and how to replace the bulbs themselves and how to wire it all up i just wanna be sure it won't cause heat or electrical damage. Thanks for any help!!
I did the XB35 Morimoto HID's from TRS. Plenty bright, quality hardware.
Also went with the XB LED fogs from TRS.
Thanks for the quick response ppl!! I called TRS and they explained everything to me very simply. Now i gotta figure out how to do the work lol.....I'm a novice at this stuff but can follow directions without a problem lol. Thanks.
Anyway you could give any incite to how u did yours? Did you already have hids? Where did you mount the hardware stuff like that. That would be awesome.
I had non HID projector. Removed the front wheels and fender liners. Once that stuff is out of the way it is simple. Many threads on this just do a little searching and you will find everything you need to know.
