Wheel & Tire compatibility

Hi!

I am new to this forum. Just got myself a 2011 Maxima !

I live in Montreal and am preparing my car for winter. I am currently shopping for a set of winter tires. So my friend is giving me away his almost-new blizzaks ws80 but they're 225/55r/17 which don't fit my oem rims . So I was I checking craigslist and found some cheap 6th gen maxima rims (Nissan Part Number: 40300ZK30A) that fits the tires. For the life of me, I cannot find the offset specs on these..Does anybody here knows if those wheels are compatible with the 7th gen maxima?

Btw, I did compare both wheel setup and the difference in revs/mile is ~0.2%.

thanksss a bunch!!!

The offset should be stamped on the inside of the wheel. I also run 06 OEM Maxima wheels in the winter on my 2013 Maxima. The 18 inch wheels are the same size, however, the offset of the 06 wheels is 40 while the offset of my 13 Maxima is 50. So the 06 wheels stick about a 1/2 an inch farther out of the wheel well. So I put on mud guards for the winter.

Nice! Smh, didn't know the offset was stamped on the wheel. I checked and it had a 45 offset which didn't make much difference. Thanks for the input!

While we are on the topic of snow tires, I have a 2013 SV Sport with the 19" rims. What are some options for snows? I have 2 sets of 17" blizzaks in my garage from my last car. Will a 17" rim fit on my Maxima? Or am I better off selling the 17's on ebay and using that money to buy 19" snow tires?

The price difference from 17'' to 19'' tires can be quite considerable. Regardless, you have to maintain the oem proportionality of the wheel. Sport package comes with 19'' rims with 245/40/19 tires. If you wanna go with 17'' rims you will have to get 225/55/17 tires. The goal here is to maintain the same number of revolutions per mile. Failure to do so can trigger problems with the ECU/ABS/speedometer. Changing the wheel size will affect this very important measurement.

here's a useful calculator https://tiresize.com/comparison/
