I need some help. Locked some valuables in my glove box and now needing to retrieve them. I attempted to place key back inside the lock. Key only goes about 1/3 of the way and stops. I can't unlock it. Any suggestions please help?

 

Something inside is preventing you turning the key all the way. If "jiggling" the key while tapping the glove box didnt work, i would recommend driving forward slowly and slamming on the breaks to force the contents of your glovebox toward the dash and away from the lock.
Or are you saying the key wont insert more than 1/3rd the way in?

 

shoot some compressed air in the lock, Also the key does not go in very far, In mine at least

 

Did you ever get your glovebox open? What was the issue?

 

Took It to the dealership. They referred me to a lock Smith. He sprayed some silicone spray in the lock and it opened up. No problem since
