Is it the wheel bearing?

2012, 125k

A few days ago, I started noticing a grinding noise coming from the front right. It really sounds like a grinding pad, but I just checked and the pads are still good. I'm thinking it may be a bad wheel bearing. The weird thing is I can only hear it in the cab while driving. It doesn't sound any worse with the windows down. I do feel a little noise in the sterrring wheel and brake pedal while driving but it's not horrible. Any thoughts?

If it is the bearing, how difficult is it to change? Thanks!

Sounds like the bearing to me. Does the sound increase with speed? Shouldn't be too difficult if you have a bit of experience. There might even be a write up on here somewhere

Yep, it was the bearing. Wasn't too hard to change. Took me a couple hours.

I'm glad to hear you were able to take care of it. I've had 5 wheel bearings replaced. One wheel was done 3 times. Seems like a major default to me.
