Headlights

Hey folks, need some help here. I brought my 2010 Maxima SV in for service. Thought I had a wiring issue, but they say it was just a bad headlight. They replaced it. When I turned the lights on later, I now have two different colored lights. Original is bright white / ice blue. New one is standard yellow color. Tech says he installed the bulb it called for, told me my bulbs must be after-market. I don't think so, pretty sure they were standard on this model. The bulb that came out appears to be original, but has no markings on it. Any thoughts?

if you bought the car used, the previous owner probably changed the bulbs, I'm gunna assume you have the factory HID package, which comes with a 4300K HID bulb that has a yellowish glow to it, since most people don't like that, the previous owner more than likely had them switched to 5K-6K bulbs, go to the retrofitsouce.com, order yourself a pair of morimoto D2S 5K bulbs for 40 bucks and you will be extremely happy with the look

Thanks for the info. I visited the site and the reviews look great. Will probably go that route. Appreciate the help.

Also HID lights will change colour over time. Called colour shift. They will start out more yellow and shift towards blue over time. So this is probably why you have a mismatch between the colour of the new bulb and the old one.

Typically with auto repair, its easier to replace some items in pairs. As in both turn signal bulbs. Both front struts.
