2009 or 2010 Maxima?

been going through alot of options and I believe I've settled on a Maxima, they're nice looking cars, responsive etc but I have a few questions if someone doesn't mind answering / has the time to respond

1. 2009 or 2010 ? what were the changes to the 2010? I heard the graphics driver in the navi display but anything else?

2. what are some things that go wrong with these models that I should look for when buying a used one?

the MAIN reason I was looking at a 2009-2010 Maxima is because I like the interior, should I settle for an Altima instead for a first car and just replace the dash with a nav screen etc?

thanks for the time

I would buy a 2010 or newer. From past experience I never buy the 1st year of a model year change over which was 2009 and actually beyond popular belief if you can buy a 2014 I would because it's model and they finally figured everything out.

There was really no difference until like 2012 Model Year.

I would definitely go with the Maxima over the Altima because the resale value on these cars suck so you should be able to find a Max for a good price!!!!

Both the 09 and 10 model years have the 10yr 120,000 mile extended warranty on the CVT transmission, so keep that in mind when selecting a vehicle. I have owned the 09 SV Sport model year now for 6 years and have no warranty work history or complaints by me on the minor problems. Very solid automobile.

ye that's something my dad taught me as well, never by the first year on a new model. That's the reason I want a 2010,. Sucks that they figured it out later cause beyond 2010 is out of my price range.

I have an 09 with only 44k on it. My buddy has an 09 also with 150k. Both of us have had Zero issues. He has just done breaks and tires on his.

Look for mine soon. I may sell it to upgrade to a Lexus.

I own a 2010 SV with 97K on it. At 65k my tranny went out the day after Christmas. I had the drain fill done to the CVT 4 months earlier so you can imagine I was PO. If it wasn't for members here I might have had a nervous breakdown. The CVT extended warranty covered the replacement. I had my car towed the dealer who services my ride. The gave me a loaner to drive and all had to do was come sign the paperwork after my car was repaired (took a week). My car runs like a "scalded dog" now and I have not had a issue since.
I am a do or die MAXIMA guy I have owned 83,88,1995,2000,2005 and my 2010.
