Nissan fixing Steering Column Lock Issue

We all know the dreaded steering column lock issues were a problem for the early couple of years for our 7th gens. Most of us who were lucky enough to remove the fuse for the lock prior to it crapping out have done so without any issues. Well, I received a letter from Nissan North America this week stating they are now launching a campaign to replace the units with a non locking unit free of charge. Additionally, if you've had to pay to have this fixed in the past they are going to reimburse you for it.

Sweet. I pulled the fuse a couple of years ago. When I get the letter, the fuse is going back in to get the new system installed.
