mirror mirror

When using reverse, my passenger side mirror tips down as it should, but continues tipping down to the bottom of its travel- I have to raise it back up while in reverse to see properly. It does return to nearly the proper position when selecting drive or park...any solutions?

Thanks

Mine was doing the same! Went to the dealer they put a nes mirror motor and some memory thing, I only have 23,000 on it so it was free.....

denoose, mine did that twice and I had it replaced the first time under warranty. The 2nd time I bought the part. Then it started doing it again after I washed the car in the winter. Try manually moving the mirror through its motions, I found that my mirror would get stuck and doing that got it going again, luckily I kept the 2nd replacement part in case my current one fails altogether. Ironically, both times it happened to me it was my passenger side mirror as well.

Thanks- I did manually move the mirror through its range as suggested, and I also disconnected the battery for 20 minutes or so, not sure what led me to do that...at any rate the mirror is functioning normally...might be gremlins...
