Exhaust fumes from tailpipe after engine turned off
Hello,
I'm noticing that my Maxima 09 continues to produce some very faint fumes from the tailpipe for about 1 minute after engine is turned off. I searched online and someone in a random page just gave it a very nice description that perfectly matches my case (someone just missed his cigarette inside the rear muffler lol). It's more pronounced in cold weather and in the morning. Car otherwise is in perfect condition, no issues what so ever.
Anyone noticed the same in their cars?
Thanks

Catalectic converter may not be doing it's job well, you're smelling unburned fuels still being cooked off. Or you're running too rich and there's unburned fuels still getting cooked off. Could be nothing, could be signs of a nearly clogged Catalectic converter...

To answer your question...no, I've never seen this and don't have it taking place on my car...ANY of my cars.
Are you huffing on your exhaust pipes? What prompted this post? Are you SMELLING 'fumes' or SEEING a slight vapor trail? Or both? Think this through logically: engine off...no way combustion gases causing this. No pressure to expel...anything.
If the car was only driven a short distance and the temperature is low, then you COULD be simply seeing water vapor.

That’s what I’m saying. I mean when you turn your car off in cold weather, the exhaust is still going to be hot. That’s just condensation. That’s why I asked if this post was a joke or rhetorical question because it’s kinda common sense. When I turn my car off and it’s 30 degrees out,I expect to condensation taking place to the exhaust for at least a minute or 2
