Exclamation Smoke coming from Glove Box

Okay, my defroster wasn't working and found I had two blown fuses being 15 amp. I changed the fuses, cranked the car and turned on the defroster and heard a small thump sound, then all of this smoke came from under and in the glove box. I'm thinking my blower motor just fried but why when it was just used day prior. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

I think you called it right...your blower motor fried. The thump could have been the cage or mounting bolts releasing that helped the motor fry.
