Power steering pump

I had my power steering pump replaced and now it makes a whining noise. We’ve replace the pump 3 times with different pumps to make sure they pump wasn’t defective and there are no leaks anywhere but it continues to whine. Any help.

I assume you have bled the system by turning lock to lock a few times. I was like you, I got a few different ones until I got a reman that was quieter. but only the one I got from Nissan was tolerable (and even it would whine if I downshifted using the paddles) I hope I never have to replace that again though I have had the Nissan one on for about 3 years now and it will still whine during downshifts.

Yes they did bleed the system, and it only whines when I turn the steering wheel but when turn and step on the gas it really whines then. Not sure what else to do I’m already a grand into trying to get it done right.

Two things come to mind. #1 Are you sure it is power steering pump noise and not belt squeal and #2 Did you get the pump from Nissan or an Auto Zone type of retail store? As I mentioned earlier a reman was the quietest (I got the from our good friends at NAPA (not a sponsor as Mr O would say)) other than an OEM from the dealer.
