MONROE 272604 / 272605 Question

Bought some new MONROE struts for my 2011 Maxima. The instructions indicate the strut is shipped locked and you must rotate the stem to release it. However, the new strut does not match the picture in the instructions. Can anyone give me some feedback if they purchased these before and if anything needed to be done before installing?

I haven't heard of this for the quick struts. I do recall it on the shocks and just the strut assy (they are shipped with the piston compressed) But you can always call Monroe at USA: 1 (734) 384-7809 (Assuming by your Cajun handle you are in the US) Different number for Canada.

Just did mine. Quick struts were not compressed - Just bolt in. Rear shocks were compressed by a nylon band.

As said if they're quick struts you don't have to do anything just bolt them in, struts shipped without the springs installed where you use a compressor to remove and reuse your old springs are almost always sent compressed with a plastic tab or band and you have to use a wrench or gently use vise grips to twist the stem and the shock piston will slowly rise up
