P0455 sequence of diagnosis?

Hmmm, I've been a member here for years but it made me re-register to post. Oh well.

My 2014 has twice now over the many years I've owned it thrown the P0455 code. Two years ago it did it and so I bought a new gas cap, 'fixed' the problem seemingly. Last week it did it again, so I bought another new gas cap just for chits and grins...the code comes back after I clear it with my INNOVA scan tool.
I have looked through many threads and posts on this code as it is common, but if someone would be so kind as to suggest the next thing for me to check, where that thing would be, then the next, and so on, I would be most grateful. I've looked at the whole evaporative control diagrams but simply don't know where to find these components.

Thank you.

Gas cap might not be sealing tight. rub some emery paper around the neck lip then apply a little white grease or Vaseline on the lip. A smoke test of your evap system might be in order.
