Is this car hot enough that you will pay sticker or are you going to expect some give on the price?

This is strictly a dealer decision, as Nissan will not be giving any kind of discounts on a new generation vehicle until they are sure it won't sell without the discount. Some dealers give small discounts early, but most actually add packs to the MSRP early on. When the 7th gens first arrived at my dealer's three dealerships, the '09 Premium with Tech had an MSRP around $39,400, but the add-on sticker with all the dealer packs pushed the price to over $42,000. By waiting for five months, I was able to get the price down to $34,500.

I suspect there will not be great deals early on. But those wanting a new 2014 Maxima can buy a Premium with Tech for around $31,000 in Atlanta. They have been advertised for $8,500 off MSRP for several months now.

Yes just wait, Maximas have a history of huge discounts after a few months in order to move them. Never pay MSRP for a Maxima. Gen 5,6 and 7 was this way, 4th gen was not so much vs the last few gens.

Incentives are always based on inventories (usually regional). The more days of supply that are accumulated in dealer inventories, the more expansive the incentives.

I'll be surprised to see much the first 3-4 months.
