New to maxima 2016
I just purchased 2016 used maxima with 10000 miles.. I got it for 24900 just the s model but it's great.. I had a 2011 and never had a problem.. I hit a black bear and totaled the 2011 so I'm new to the new generation.

Nice price congrats!

I think it depends on how picky you are about what trim, color, and options you want. Most of the dealers where I was looking in the northeast had more 2017s on hand than 2016s. For example, I was interested in a 2016 Super Black Maxima SV and found two within a 45 minute drive.
Another consideration is that the current $2k incentive on 2016 models ends on August 1st. I'm assuming that something similar or better will be available in August, but you never know what Nissan has in mind. I'm in Az and some dealers are 6800 off Msrp..I might try n make a deal this weekend. The deal has to be right. I still have my 2009 maxima Sv with only 39,000 on it. I'll prob lease the 2016 and keep my 2009 since they won't offer me enough. Attachment 13254 |
Currently trying to talk my sales manager into getting me out of '14 7 months early and into a '16 for close to the same payment...
If they want to close the month where they need to be he will do it, im sure..otherwise I will just be bugging him about it next month |
Am I the crazy one?
Hi All,
I'm looking at a 2016 Maxima Platinum. White ($395). It has these options- Illuminated Kickguards ($350) and Kick Guards ($190). The dealer has been using it as a demo and the GM has been driving it as their daily car so it has 3500 miles on it. MSRP is $41,900. They got down to $39,000 with their offer. With that mileage it feels like a used car in my mind (and i'm looking for a 'great' to 'exceptional' deal) and am at $36,000. Is 3500 miles on a demo car still "new"? Maybe I'm just being a little too wistful, inspired by the great deals i've seen people report on here :) |
I don't see how a car with 3500 miles could possibly be "new". I was able to get a little more than $6k off MSRP on a 2016 Maxima SV with 36 miles on it, so I would expect to pay less than $36k on that one.
|
Demo cars, if never titled are sold as "new" cars. If the car has ever been titled, then it is sold as used.
That said, and I am not just throwing rocks at the sky, this deal is no good. Here is a link to my local dealer http://www.executivenissan.com/new-i...odyStyle=Sedan they have brand new Platinum at 34,999. Granted it may not have the option packages yours has, but I would expect the demo car to be at least couple of grand less than a car that has not been driven, but this is my opinion only. Keep looking |
I agree with above post.
|
thanks for the quick answers (and letting me know I'm not crazy to expect a deep price drop for a car with that kind of mileage).
I'll be as patient as I can be and keep looking. |
In my experience it seems like some dealers are more interested in trying to get you to overpay instead of moving cars for a fair price for both sides. I had one dealer lecture me and tell me that the dealership I bought my car from wouldn't sell me the car for the price they quoted me. I actually preferred the car he had on his lot, but he insisted on acting like a jerk so I moved on.

I really want Apple Car Play so that the screen stays relevant but don't know if it is worth paying that much more for a 2017 right now. Does anyone think that they will offer 0% financing on the 2017 by the end of the year? Like a year end sale. Have they done that in the past?

2016 Maxima SL new Coulis Red lease sign and drive. 36 month lease with 12,000 miles per year for $0 at signing and $398 per month for 35 months. Deal was made a week ago today, August 18, 2016. Also dealership paid the last month of the previous lease, a 2013 Maxima.

No issues at all with the car. |
Same here with dealer demo and 4k miles- little more than above post but close- 0% incentive- and a very close to KBB trade on my old car.

Hi guys, new to the fourms and this my first thread.
Just picked up my 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum, Super Black/Charcoal in Pennsylvania (well, Herb Gordon Nissan in Silver Spring MD picked it up in PA) for $35,200+Tags+Title+Dealer Document Fees (the $800+ shipping charge was included). No trade in, financed via my credit union. Hope this helps give a baseline for your negotiations. What really helped was the $2000 rebates they had in August on 2016 models (the option was a $2k rebate or 0% financing). Amazing car. No spoiler, yes floor mats, no illuminated kick plates, no splash guards (although i may have them installed soon). |
Lots of good information on this thread!!! I feel like now is the time to get out of my current lease (11 payments of $450 for a 2014 Altima SV remaining). Am I wrong in thinking that now would be the best opportunity to jump into a new Maxima? I'm looking at the 2016 SR and not looking to put much down. I went to a dealership, sat in the car and was pleasantly surprised. Speaking to the salesman, he stated that average lease payments for a Maxima Platinum trim are in the mid 500's but according to this thread, that isn't the case. Any advice?

After spending a month on the process and working with three different local dealerships, I'm not sure how I could've done much better. Very happy with the deal and very happy with the car so far! |
I'm in central New Jersey. I purchased a 2017 Deep Blue Pearl SR Midnight Edition on 9/7. Total out the door including ttl and stupid doc fees was 39,936.00 with 1.8% apr as 0% was only offered on the 2016. Not sure if I could've done better but I feel I did ok, plus I love the car so I'm happy.
|
What's up everyone - new here but planning to purchase an SR here soon!
I'm sold on the midnight edition - love those black wheels! I found a '16 midnight in white barely used w/ 1k miles for 30k. (addl 500 documentation fee + taxes, tags, etc) Otherwise, I've seen blue & black (other colors i'm torn btw) midnights w/ a few thousand miles for a little more and I've seen brand new '17 for pretty good prices out of state (financing thru dealership with rebates included in that price) What do y'all think of that price for the white one w/ 1k miles? Will cost me about 32k total after everything. |
Just drove home a new 2017 SR Midnight edition in silver for $33,340 plus $597 in dealer prep/handling fees. Was working multiple dealers for a 2016 but couldn't find a color combo I liked that wasn't on stop sale due to abs actuator recall. Worked them into a deal for a 2017 at the same price as a well discounted new 2016. Pretty satisfied with my deal.

I'm shocked you got $4,315 off of sticker on a 2017. But if you did, great for you!

Nissan Canada is advertising 5k financing cash off the SR and Platinum. Plus an extra 1k if you're an existing Nissan owner.

Isn't that for the 2016 models? I wonder what discounts can be negotiated on the 17's.
Yeah that was the 16s. I don't know what they're offering on the 17s. Not much I expect. |

Seems to be some great deals out there. I just purchased a Pearl White, Platinum, for $35,296 in northern NJ. (MSRP $41660). Could have gotten it for a few hundred less but would have had to travel over an hour to get to that dealer. Glad I waited for the price, but not for the missed time driving this great car.
