2016 Maxima best advertised price

I know there is a thread about how much people's pay for new Maxima, but I think will be helpful for some guys if we posted best advertised price from dealer's websites. I'm thinking to trade my 7 th. gen. Maxima for 2016 model in near future, and my daily routine is to check websites Nissan dealers around my place. So far best prices I see is up to $4400 discount from MSRP. For less than two months on the market is more than I expected.

I said this 2 months ago when people said they were being told MSRP. 4k off is normal. I got $3500 off the 7th gen sport when it just came out that summer 2008.

Still not convinced there is a backlog of demand so sooner rather than later, prices will come down. The car is beautiful to some of us but most people are not crazy about the looks of the exterior from what has been posted on other automobile sites.

Spoke with the dealer. You must finance with Nissan, a minimum of $7500 of the purchase price. They also said that if you were coming off of an existing loan with Nissan, they would take another $1000 off. I'm in MN, so this dealer isn't an option for me. I'll definitely be using this as a bargaining chip, though! Thanks for the post!

When I tried to buy mine from a dealer in VA I looked at the Internet Price and it was around 5k of MSRP. When I went to the dealer they would not honor the price. They pointed to some small print on their website. First post on this website talked about Libertyville Nissan. I decided to go to their website and check out the small print. "All applicable factory rebates/incentives are available to all. Additional rebates may be available but you must qualify. Standard financing through Nissan Financial, see associate for complete details. Excludes tax, title, license & $168.43 doc fee.
While we make every effort to ensure the data listed here is correct, there may be instances where some of the factory rebates, incentives, options or vehicle features may be listed incorrectly as we get data from multiple data sources. PLEASE MAKE SURE to confirm the details of this vehicle (such as what factory rebates you may or may not qualify for) with the dealer to ensure its accuracy. Dealer can not be held liable for data that is listed incorrectly".

Bottom line is if you are a serious buyer, agree on the price out the door based on this Internet Price and get it in writing (email) or you will be wasting your time. These statement pretty much help the dealers in their negotiation. Just my $0.02.

I also spoke with the dealer. I live in Atlanta and could fly down and drive it back up. The $6000 quoted on the site actually includes the "extra" $1000 off you're describing. And you can only qualify for it if Nissan has sent you a mailer directly if you are one or two payments away from finishing up your existing loan. So in reality it's only $5000 off.

I got this quote:
Internet Price $36,095 ($5000 Off the MSRP)**
Sales Tax $2974.66 Estimated GA State Tax may be other fee that your local DMV may collect will verify with the title clerk
Dealer fee $799
Tire and Battery Disposal Fee $6.50
Lemon Law Fee $2.00
Electronic Tittle transfer Fee $97.70
Out of state convenience fee $185
Out the door $40,159.86

For those keeping score at home, this ^ car now appears to be $500 cheaper on the Jenkins website (via $5500 Off MSRP).

I talked to the dealer a while ago and they said there was no catch. You just had to finance at least $7500 of the vehicle with Nissan. I still find that hard to believe but hell, if you're in NJ, it's worth taking a look. I got 3k off MSRP and probably 4k over KBB on my trades, so I was a happy camper. I'm in MN.

On the surface this seems like a really good deal, but if you look at the fine print the car in question is actually an S and not an SV:

Some Guys are $6k off of retail

Have you purchase a new 2016 Maxiam yourself ? I really do not believe that
any Nissan Dealer can sell a Hot New Sports Model for $6k off of retail.
The Dealers inventory's are limited and it looks like the action is on the
Platinum, and then the SL and SR models.

Coasterswim said the SV in the ad was incorrect, and that the fine print in the followup corrected the SV to a base S, which has an MSRP of
$32,410. That would mean they are taking only sround $2,600 off. That is still better than my nearest dealer. But my time is coming fast. If my dealer doesn't lower his price, folks will go elsewhere. Deals will be here before too long.

The Costco in my area has a Blue Platinum Edition marked down to 39,330 from MSRP of 41,000. Car was right at the front door going in.

The dealers around me all have a nice selection of 2016 Maximas also. Unfortunately, there are no silver platinums at any of the nearest dozen Nissan dealers. If I bought through my local dealer, there are only three silver platinums within a hundred miles, and the nearest one is 60 miles away. And it is one that has been at that dealership since June 3rd, and has probably been test-driven many dozens of times, including some nuts who had to test the zero to sixty elapsed time on a car with less than a dozen miles on the odo.

Have to wait until they really want to move these cars. I'm putting new tires on my 7th gen and going to wait until the good discounts come around.

Part of the problem is choice. I have the cash and am ready to pay MSRP, but just cannot find a silver Platinum at the dozen nearest dealers.

The new setup Nissan is using seemed logical, but when we do the math, with nine colors and five models and two interior choices, that means the dealer would have to have at least NINETY CARS in order to have one of each combo.

I decided to improve my chances by accepting any interior color, as well as any combination of lighting (ground, sill, special interior, none), with or without spoiler, with or without rocker panel molding, with or without splash guards, etc, etc, but still nothing anywhere near me. Getting a little discouraged.

LOTH...why not have them build one to your specs? I thought I saw a 4-8 week lead time for such things.

Not yet. But I have discussed the driving experience at length with two of the drivers Nissan hired to take the new Maximas around the country for display at dealers in May, and I have sat in and walked around several 2016 Maximas several times in order to familiarize myself with the new layout and controls. I looked underneath one while it was on my dealer's lift. I rotated sitting in all four seats for most of two hours back in mid-May. I also read every 'test drive' report I can find. I am careful to note any differences between the 7th gen and 8th gen ride and handling that testers mention.

Having owned nothing but Maximas for almost thirty-one years, I don't think Nissan can surprise me too much with this 8th gen. I already know it is a step above the 7th gen in many ways.

Costco is a buying service like True-car, Cars Direct, Consumer Reports, etcetera. Difference is, Costco gives you the name of the Costco approved dealer, but they do not reveal the Costco price until you come in.

Also, you can get a much better price yourself if you are willing to go thru the trouble of negotiating and have done your homework.

I found this silver platinum available at Nalley Nissan of Atlanta. Maybe they just got it in? Not sure its exactly what you are looking for or not but here is the link to it. Hope it is what you want!

I went in looking to make a deal on the exact car I wanted (they had a ton on the lot) but it didnt work out. The other dealer who has even better reviews doesn't have the car i want, so id be doing a dealer swap which I know isn't a big deal but I don't like dealing with a car that isn't there.

right now I'm looking at doing 4 new tires and driving the car for a while longer.
