Text Messaging via Bluetooth
Text Messaging via Bluetooth
I randomly noticed texts coming through my car a fraction of the time but thought this wasn't supported yet. I have an Android Moto X running the latest software 5.1.
I started noticing that when I start the car and let the system load, then turn on the Bluetooth on my phone after the car has been on, I receive text messages that are read aloud and I can send an automated reply via the Nissan system. Anyone else get it to work?

Just curious, turn off your Bluetooth and then back on while the car is on. That's how I got mine to work.
The Nissan website said most phones aren't compatible with the text messaging, but somehow mine works reliably when I trick it to now.

Has anyone had luck using a Samsung Galaxy S6 with Android 5.1.1 regarding reading or sending text messages? It seems to work fine with bluetooth audio as well as making and receiving calls but when I try to use the text feature, it says "SM-G920A not compatible"...
Edit: Never mind, it seems just disconnecting and reconnecting fixed the problem.

Hmm.. I have a Windows Phone 8.1 Lumia 935 which worked fine with my Pioneer head unit for text in my 2003 Maxima. Absolutely no issues. Now in my new 2016 SR it just tells me text not available for my phone. It's greyed out on the Phone menu.
I haven't tried the turn off/on bluetooth on the phone when the car is on yet. I'll have to try that but we shouldn't have to do that. Never had connection problems with any other head-units using this phone. Audio and voice connect up just fine.

Similar problem. At first the text was visible but a few days later no text, just the spoken word. It has been intermittent. Tomorrow I have a service appointment for some general service and hopefully I will remember to ask about it.
