How to Keep the Maxima Shiny?

What's everyone using to keep their new Maxima extra shiny? I picked up the car a month ago and day one it had that extra deep shiny gloss look...of course I've already run my car through the car wash about 6 times (okay fine 12) and it just doesn't have that deep DEEP gloss look anymore. I want the paint looking like glass....Any suggestions for products?

I have used most of the OTC offerings, and many of the "boutique" products. For the value and effectiveness proposition - it's really hard to beat Duragloss products. My favorite paint product is 501 mixed with 601. Meguiars is very good as well.

Meguairs vote here. Been using their Detailer line for several years! I order direct. You can't get most Detailer line products in the store. Exception is O'Reillys. They have some. Small selection though.

I have tried many waxes over the years with good results but most only look good for about a month or two. My go to for long term shine and protection is Meguiars #21 synthetic sealant 2.0. It looks great and last a long time. When I wash my cars the dirt slides right off. Personally I first clay my new cars before applying. You will be surprised how much gunk is already embedded on your paint. I first wash with the car with a soap that contains no wax (not dish soap) then I use a clay bar to remove contaminates and then use the sealant.

This is what I use.

Max9999,

I've never used a sealant before. I've always just waxed the car. Does the sealant take the place of a wax? If so, then just a clay bar and then the sealant and you're done?

Yes I only use sealant instead of wax. I use the Meguiars clay bar kit. Just make sure to follow the directions and try checking you tube for some tips.

Check this two part video:
How to apply sealant.

There are also a number of waxes that will give you a deep wet look which you would be happy with but they may require more frequent applications as compared to a sealant.

Is there anywhere to get a good sealant other than online? The auto parts stores don't seem to have any sealants. I'm ready to get it on the car now, not a week from now after it's delivered from some online site.

I use to detail cars before I joined the Army... and all I ever used was Ardex products. Its a company based out of Philly. They have everything you will need. Most dealerships use them... or that Auto Butler they charge you out the A** for when you buy a car.

Keep it clean

I have it hand washed, clay bared and waxed every 2 weeks, and wipe it down after every drive. I live in California so weather is not an issue and it never is driven in the rain!

Oh no

I have 2 gentlemen twins ironically that come to my home with their own water that is treated, they hand wash, soap blow out all mirrors, door jams, trunk and hood jams and rims, then hand clay bar then hand wax. Takes 3 hours and is pricy but that's why my cars look brand new for years. Worth the investment.
