Compass View Weather Icons

Just curious where the weather information is coming from in order for it to display the weather icons on this screen. Trying to figure out if I will lose that if I don't continue to subscribe to SXM.

Thanks in advance.

It's my understanding that it is part of the weather subscription service with SXM. If you don't continue that part of the subscription, I believe it will not appear.

Everything including weather should be activated for the trial period so you can see what it does. After that you can pay for XM and get weather/traffic separately as add ons. Not sure it is worth the dough unless you get a good deal

Thanks guys. I do like seeing the icon but probably isn't worth the price of the weather subscription. I'll enjoy it while I have it.

Just a quick follow up question. The speed limit icons that show up, is that from the SXM traffic service then? Or from the map on the SD card? I suppose that is the other thing I'll lose when I don't renew SXM.

The speed limit signs you see are from the navigation SD card. They are not part of the XM/Sirius satellite trial.

Weather icon

How come I don’t have the weather icon on my dashboard next to the speedometer anymore? I’m reading on here it’s a sxm radio thing but I never signed up for it. It just showed up one day stayed a couple days and never come back. I really liked it I thought my car updated somehow. Is that the sxm thing or is there some way I can change in my settings?

You have to be a SXM subscriber and purchase their weather package - then it will return

While it ended the middle of last week, SXM had a free promo running for a couple of weeks. It included weather, traffic, stocks etc. That would be why you saw the weather icon and now it is gone.
