I purchased my new Nissan and the dealer promised to add Interior Ambient LED lights when they became available. It has now been 3 months and they claim that Nissan doesn't have them 'available' yet.


How can I check this to ensure the dealer isn't playing games?

 

Call the parts department and ask then how much the part is and if it is available.
I know they are manufacturing them, my SR has them.

 

I had them installed by my local dealer 2 months ago.

 

I have the SL,.. Mine was installed from Nissan, it also came with the ground lighting..
Did you get an IOU from the dealer?

 

My Platinum came with the special interior lighting, which enables me to choose between twenty different colors of lighting. I can choose the color best fitting my mood each day. I also have the exterior ground lighting, which lights up the ground with four lights on each side of the car every time we open or close a door, or lock or unlock the doors. After a two week stretch where we had dark overcast and rain every day, and were using the Maxima to carry everything we could cram into the car every day (we are moving), We have grown to love these lighting packages.

Yes, Nissan had the special interior lighting on some 2016 Maximas as early as the first week of June. My memory isn't perfect, but I think I may have seen a post somewhere here where a poster had ordered the lighting package to be installed by the dealer, and found it was on 'back order' (which means entire supply is going to the assembly line at this time).

 

I called the parts department and they confirmed availability! Thanks for the suggestion. I just texted dealer to ask to have them installed.


I have the kickplates and exterior lighting now and I love it too! Great for lighting up the car in a parking lot.

 

Yes, I did. They are supposed to install the ambient lights and the window tinting.
