CVT Transmission kick on 2016 Maxima SR

I've never owned another CVT before and the ones I've driven on old Altima don't behave like this so I'm not sure if this is an issue I should be worried about:

At between 40-60mph, I will lift off the gas to coast, and then when I put my feet on the gas again, I will feel a "kick" sensation from the car as if the car just did a very quick downshift.

This happens all the time but only when after I press the gas after coasting.

Does anyone else get this in their Maximas? I'm not too concerned (this is why I lease, and if there's no problems, then I buy out) but it's something I'd like to find out.

Yes, I've noticed that. Torque converter I believe unlocking/locking.

I tested this yesterday and I would say it's the opposite of a kick. I feel a lag of about a quarter second before it really accelerates. The rpms will jump up by about 1000 quickly, but I don't feel much acceleration until after that jump in engine revs.
