Question SL headlights

Hey guys, new member here

So here is another question about changing the low beam headlights on my SL. But here's the kicker. I leased my SL, so I am looked for a replacement bulb. I am not looking for an HID or LED conversion kit because they will charge me when I bring the car back.

So what are the best low beam LED bulbs that I can just plug in.

Also, how do you get to the low beams? Do you have to take off the bumper or go through the wheel well?

Sorry if I misunderstood certain aspect. Please feel free to correct me.

Thanks in advance for your help

My salesman told me I can do what ever I want to it as long as I return it back with the stock options, except the tint which is fine.

I'm about to get an SL myself on a lease deal, from what I hear, these bulbs are straight up drop in, plug & play. Was considering doing the maxima platinum but the lease rate is just too expensive. I found a guy who installed them in an accord on YouTube & they're the same bulb size as the maxima H11, pretty easy. If I grab an SL, I too will do this.

Bulbs - http://opt-7.com/opt7-fluxbeam-led-headlight/

It's much easier than HID kits, no mounting ballasts, etc.

This is a post from my Camry days (one week ago) that is very insightful and just loaded with information. This guy would test things to no end.

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/31...l-one-led.html

The HID "kit" is easily (was easier in my Camry as I could reach the headlights through the hood) removed and if you save your stock halogens you just throw those back in when its time to take it back to the dealer.

I haven't attempted it yet, but it would be much easier to go through the wheel well than to remove the bumper.

Too bad all headlights aren't as accessible as that Accord. I would have replaced the wife's weak, yellow Altima lights except that they buried so deep down in there that I changed my mind.

This guy did it on a late model Altima, I assume it's similar to the maxima.

Sure does, my only issue is clearance to get to the headlights. Hopefully, someone puts up a tutorial w/ a review, I'm hoping this will fill the void of being bummed out about the SL not having stock LED headlights.

I'm always a little surprised how many people lease cars and actually turn them back in to the dealer at the end. I always trade mine well before the end of the lease and just take advantage of the lower payments while I have it.

You have tobe careful about trading early, of course, since you can get into negative equity territory just as you can with conventional financing. In fact, I was always upside-down even when i financed my cars, so there's not a whole lot of difference there. But in some cases you can actually come out better by trading out of a lease, especially down near the end of the term, since you just might actually have some equity in the car.

I turned a car in at the end of my lease one time, and I hated the hassle of getting it inspected and nitpicked to death. If you take care of your car it should be worth as much as the residual specified in the lease anyway, so IMO it's easier to just trade it in.

Yeah, I hear you. I have a 2013 VW CC Sport Plus w/ 38k, owe 2 more payments. Car is due back by April 30th. Residual is $16,500. Hopefully, Nissan will take this car off my hands & throw me in the Maxima. We'll see tomo

Hey mannino89, did you ever put these bulbs in SL? Just got my SL, and need to change those halogens, they're horrible.

Just to make you aware. Nissan sends a 3rd party company for a return lease inspection of your vehicle prior to turn in. Nissan owns the car, not the dealer. They check for the obvious, mileage, wear and tear, condition, etc. They could care less if the HL bulbs were upgraded. To be honest, they most likely will not notice.
