Can rear spoiler be swapped?

So this is weird. In my rush last night of closing on the platinum deal I didn't even realize it has a spoiler.

What's odd is it doesn't show up as an accessory on the specs page taped to the window nor on nissans site but sure enough it's the premium one.

Is like to swap this out for the sport spoiler. I had intended to get a platinum without a spoiler originally.

I know the drill pattern is identical. I'm just wondering if there is some sort of adhesive or once it's on if it can come off? A bit bummed that it's already got the non sport spoiler on it.

I've seen some photos of different models swapped on this forum- i can't confirm but have a feeling it can be done. I think someone put a sport spoiler on a white platinum?

I am pretty sure it can be done - the installation manual from nissan is near identical. I just wasn't sure if once one is on if taking it off is going to cause damage due to adhesive or something similar.

I'd be afraid of warpage trying to heat the adhesive tape that runs on the underside of the spoiler and possibly damaging the trunk metal as well. . I'd forget the sport spoiler and enjoy what you have

Good points.

Could ask a dealers opinion/have them do it?

I agree. Have the dealer do it. If they mess it up they'll have to fix it.

Any adhesive is easily removed with goo gone and elbow grease. If the holes line up you should be able to swap without issues. Though the dealer may charge more for removing the existing spoiler since they charge a set amount for the spoiler/install. I could help with removal, but I would guess your not in MO.

Yes, I have done this. We bought a new Pearl white and I put the black sport spoiler on myself. If you are any good at all with tools you can do this. Holes are exact same. Hardest part is getting all the tape to let go and there are plastic snap in pieces on either end that are hard to pop loose. Once you get all the nuts off you will need to get a plastic blade of some sort to work all the way around and cut the tape loose. Take your time, so that you dont scratch. Once you do that, you can get spoiler away from the car enough to work with the plastic snap on the ends. I could get one, but not the other. Ended up cutting it with some needle pliers. Once the spoiler is off the car, then you just take your time working the sticky tape off the car. Not too bad. Clean very good and then install the new one. Call me if you like.

I also installed the black rear diffuser. You can print instructions off of Nissans web site.

You swapped the 18" for the 19" also? Looks like it on the photo.

You did exactly what I am in the process of doing. Same color too. basically get the features of the platinum but make it look more like the SR. Love the look!

The dealer agreed to swap 19"s on it? Wonder if they would do the black 19" SR wheels on a platinum. Is there an issue with putting the 19's on a car designed for 18's or it it basically the same car so it shouldn't matter?

Yes, but I was very lucky. They 99% of the time will not swap. I was prepaired on buying them seperate, but just lucked into a deal. No problems with the swap at all.

Haven't had any issues with swapping the sport 19s on my Platinum. Just added the sport spoiler today. Thinking of getting the diffuser but may wait for Stillen to come out with a diffuser.
