My Platinum leather is perfect - cleaned it once in 4500 miles.

Same experience here. I have been using Lexoil to clean and condition.
A suggestion is to make sure the drivers seat is all the way back before getting out if you don't have the Platinum. That way when you get in next time, you will not be rubbing the side bolster much. My old Acura showed heavy wear in that one spot before I preemptively started moving the seat back.

One thing I notice on my Platinum is that the joined vertical bolster leather seams on both the drivers and passengers seats are not joined all that well towards the seat bottom. Many wrinkles and an irregular look that you do not see in the brochures. I looked in the show room at another Max and it looks the same.

Funny thing - crazy enough, I actually like it. Makes it look hand-sewn rather than done by machine...

I like your thinking and that's kind of what I decided rather than having new uphostery to replace this irregularity. I have been treating that area with Lexoil and saddle soap so it seems to be more plyable now after one year.
